As Memorial Day approaches, we’re reminded that this holiday is about more than just the unofficial start of summer. It’s a time to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice are the foundation of the freedoms we enjoy every day.
In our communities across Missouri and Kansas—from Grain Valley to Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs to Oak Grove—we see reminders of patriotism in our neighborhoods, schools, and front yards. Whether it’s flags waving proudly or ceremonies held in local parks, we’re surrounded by people who remember the meaning behind this day.
As a local Realtor, a mom, and a proud member of this community, I’m grateful for the freedoms we have—and I’m thankful to the families who have sacrificed so much for all of us.
This Memorial Day, I encourage you to pause and reflect. Attend a local event, visit a veteran’s memorial, or simply take a moment of silence to honor the fallen.
And if you’re out and about enjoying your weekend—at the lake, hosting a barbecue, or watching a parade—know that those simple moments are made possible by those who served.
